Monday, September 24th – Finish, check, and turn in the E-6 Heating and Cooling Curves Lab Analysis Questions 4-7, Critical Thinking Questions 1-8, and the Conclusion with partner (E-06-15 lsh). Homework: Read the E-6 Study Sheet and finish the Phase Diagram Practice Problems AND finish ALL the E-6 Questions on the E-3 to 6 Practice Test (E-06-17 ssh/E-03to6-17 pth)(due Tues). Need some extra practice? Try these additional E-6 questions (E-06 mbcfgraphr)(due Tues)! Read the E-7 Physical and Chemical Changes Study Sheet and begin the Practice Problems 1-6 ALL and 7-9 “odd letters” (a, c, e …)(E-07-17 ssh)(due Thurs).

Tuesday, September 25th – Check E-6 Study Sheet and Phase Diagram Problems and E-3 to 6 Practice Test (and additional E-6 Questions if completed). E-3 to 6 Kahoot (Have the E-6 Phase Diagram Problems and the E-3 to 6 Practice Test out and ready!)! Homework: STUDY for E-3 to 6 Lab Test on Wednesday (This is ONLY a 60% maximum retake Test!)! Read the E-7 Physical and Chemical Changes Study Sheet and continue the Practice Problems 1-6 ALL and 7-9 “odd letters” (a, c, e …)(due Thurs).

Wednesday, September 26th – Take the E-3 to 6 Lab Test. Homework: Read the E-7 Physical and Chemical Changes Study Sheet and finish the Practice Problems 1-6 ALL and 7-9 “odd letters” (a, c, e …)(due Thurs).

Thursday, September 27th – Binder check E-6 Phase Diagram Problems and E-3 to 6 Practice Test. Complete, check, and turn in the E-7 Practice Test with partner (E-07-17 pth). Need some extra practice? Try these additional E-7 questions (E-07 mppr/E-07 pcchngwkstr)(due Fri)! Homework: Begin E-8 Heats of Solidification and Combustion Prelab (GUIDELINESFORLABREPORT – 18/E-08-18 lsh)(due next Mon) and E-9 Discovering Density Prelab (E-09-14 lsh)(due next Fri).

Friday, September 28th – Play the E-7 Physical and Chemical Change and Element, Compound, Mixture AND SMART Board games. E-7 Kahoot! Binder check and check E-7 Practice Problems (and additional E-7 Questions if completed). Homework: STUDY for E-7 Test on Monday (This is ONLY a 60% maximum retake Test!)! Wednesday, September 19th – E-2 Significant Figures notes (Atlantic Pacific or Counting Rule/rounding)(E-02-16 ssr/E-2 Significant Figures Poster KA)Complete and check Practice Problems 1, 2, and 4. 

Thursday, September 20th – Complete counting and rounding practice from 1st self correcting practice test (i.e. “Excel Practice Test” Parts 1, 3, and 4). If time, complete counting and rounding practice from the other self correcting practice tests (i.e. “the blue, yellow, and red Practice Tests”). 

Friday, September 21st – E-2 Inside/Outside Circle. E-2 Kahoot (Counting)! Complete, check, and turn in counting and rounding practice from the E-2 more practice problems and E-2 even more practice problems with partner (E-02-17 mpr/E-02-13 emppr).

Do the E-6 Lab Day #1. Did you finish the E-4 the Bunsen Burner Lab (Discuss questions at your table and jot notes in your Workbook.)? Homework: Finish the E-3 through 5 Questions on the E-3 to 6 Practice Test (due Wed). Complete a graph of the E-6 Day #1 Lab Data using the Guidelines for Graphing (due Wed). Begin Reading Section 14-4 in the black textbook and completing the Review and Reinforcement Worksheet Questions #1-18 (14-4 R+R Wksht.)(due Thurs).

Wednesday, September 19th – Discuss the E-6 Day #1 Lab Graph and mark Analysis #1-3 on Graph. Complete a graph of the E-6 Day #2 Lab Data DIRECTLY ON TOP of the Day #1 Data using the Guidelines for Graphing and turn in graph (E-6-17 sd). Here’s how it will be graded (E-6 rubric KRe). Have you discussed the E-4 Bunsen Burner Data Tables, Questions, and Conclusion at your table and jotted notes in your Workbook? Homework: Make SURE your E-1+2 PP and PT are in your binder and FINISHED and bring Thursday! Finish Reading Section 14-4 in the black textbook and completing the Review and Reinforcement Worksheet Questions #1-18 (due Thurs).

Thursday, September 20th – Binder check 1-2 PP and PT. Friday, September 14th – Half Day. Homecoming Parade. Finish and turn in the E-3 Analysis #1 and #2 (graph/list). Here’s how it will be graded (E-3 rubric KRfr). Begin the E-3 Lab Questions/Conclusion with partner (E-03-17 wksht/E-3 Conclusion).

Tuesday, September 4th – Pick up, go over individual E-1 Metric System Entrance Cards 1 and 2, and review E-1. Complete E-1 Self Correcting Practice Test (Look in Google classroom!). Homework: Have you read the E-1 Study Sheet (E-01-16 ssr)(E-1 Test Thurs)? Have you read the Flinn Safety Contract (Flinn SC English/Flinn SC Spanish), Standard Practices in the Laboratory (Standard Lab Practices), and the Starting with Safety video handout/Chemistry Room Map (SH and RM)(Safety Quiz Fri)?

Wednesday, September 5th – Pick up E-1 partner Activities Measuring and Converting (E-1 MC (KR)), Metric Mania (E-1 MM), Scientific Notation (E-1 SN), and Conversion Factors (E-1 CF). Complete, check, and turn in the E-1 Practice Test (E-01-17 ptr). Have time? Complete another (E-01-17 ptr/E-01-17 aptr)! Homework: Have you read the E-1 Study Sheet (E-1 Test TOMORROW!)? Wednesday, September 5th – Safety Kahoot (in assigned seats, please)! Complete and turn in the Room Map. Take Safety Quiz. Homework: Have you read the E-1 and 2 Study Sheets and textbook pages? Finish the E-2 Practice Test (due Thurs)(E-1 and 2 Tests Thurs). The self-correcting practice tests in Google Classroom are great extra practice! 🙂

Thursday, September 6th – Check the E-2 Practice Test. Take the E-1 and 2 Tests. Homework: READ Guidelines for Lab Report and do a Prelab for the E-3 Observations Lab in your Science Notebook (Don’t forget the prelab terms!)(GUIDELINESFORLABREPORT – 18/E-03-18 lsh/Lab Pictures). Wear closed toed shoes for Friday!!!

Friday, September 7th – Answer Questions about Prelabs. Get E-3 Prelab approved (delayed until Monday). Complete E-3 Lab Day 1. Homework: READ Guidelines for Graphing and do a Graph for the E-3 Lab in your Science Notebook (GUIDELINESFORGRAPHING – 08)(due next Tues). Wear closed toed shoes for Monday!!!
