Monday, November 27th – Discuss the E-15 Equal Volumes Lab Data, complete the Calculations, and submit one clean copy per group on the Lab Worksheet for grading (E-15-16 lsr/E-15-16 wksht). Tuesday, November 28th – Begin the E-16 Mole notes on Note Sheet (E-16 Note Sheet r). Troubleshoot E-15 Lab and resubmit (if bad data/calculations). Homework: Begin the E-16 Magic Square (E-16 smsr)(due Thurs).

Wednesday, November 29th – Continue the E-16 Note Sheet. Complete and turn in the E-15 Analysis on the Lab Worksheet. Homework: Continue the E-16 Magic Square (due Thurs).

Thursday, November 30th – Finish the E-16 Note Sheet. Troubleshoot E-15 Lab and resubmit (if bad analysis). Finish and turn in the E-16 Magic Square. Homework: Begin What Do You Call a Chemistry Teacher’s Joke About Cobalt, Radon, and Yttrium (e-16 wdycactjacryr)? (due next Mon).

Monday, November 13th – Finish and turn in the E-14 Molar Mass Practice Problems “odd letters” (i.e. a, c, e …)(E-14-16 ssr/Periodic Table). Discuss the E-15 Equal Volumes Lab Procedure and Prelab Questions (E-15-16 lsr). Complete the E-15 Prelab and get stamped, if time. Make sure to do the Prelab Question!

Tuesday, November 14th – Did you turn in your E-14 Practice Problems (If not, show me what you have done NOW)? Check the E-14 Practice Problems with a Google Quiz. Complete the E-15 Prelab and get stamped. Make sure to do the Prelab Question!

Wednesday, November 15th – Complete, check, and turn in the E-14 Practice Problems “even letters” (i.e. b, d, f …) with partner. Complete the E-15 Prelab and get stamped. Make sure to do the Prelab Question! Homework: STUDY for the E-14 Test Thursday!!!

Thursday, November 16th – Do the E-14 Test. Complete the E-15 Prelab and get stamped. Make sure to do the Prelab Question!

Friday, November 17th – Do the E-15 Lab and submit the data on an E-15 Lab Worksheet for grading (E-15-16 wksht).

Regular Chemistry … November 6th – 10th.

Hello, students!

Here is what we are doing in Regular Chemistry this week:

Monday, November 6th – Return and check the E-9 Practice Quiz (E-09-17 pqr). Fill in the masses and densities for the 5 % sugar solutions in the E-10 Beverage Density Data Table in your Workbook. Learn how to use a pipette. After visiting the practice station, obtain the masses and densities for each of the five beverages and fill in the Data Table in your Workbook (Make sure to record them in the correct box on your data table.)(E-10-17 lsr).  Homework: STUDY for the E-9 Quiz (E-09-15 ls/E-09 pqqwpic/E-09 dpc/E-09-17 pqrand the E-7 Test retake Tuesday (E-07-16 ssr/E-07 mppr/E-07-17 ptr/E-07-17 pt2r)

Tuesday, November 7th – Return and check the E-7 PT2 (E-07-17 pt2r). All will take the E-9 Density Quiz. Those who have turned in their E-7 PT2 may retake the E-7 Test; if you have not, you must schedule the retake on your own time before Thanksgiving Break. Homework: Complete the E-15 Equal Volumes Prelab (E-15-16 lsr)(due next Tues). Read the E-14 Molar Mass Study Sheet (E-14-16 ssr).

Wednesday, November 8th –  Some New Seats. Pool your E-10 Lab Data. Discuss what is meant by a direct and by an inverse relationship. Obtain an E-10 Beverage Density calibration curve for 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20% sugar solutions for your group and learn how to use colored pencils and rulers to estimate the % sugar of each of the 5 beverages and write the % sugars in your Data Table in your Workbook. Turn in your E-10 Analysis Graph. Homework: Complete the E-15 Equal Volumes Prelab (due next Tues).

Thursday, November 9th – Did you turn in your E-10 Analysis Graph? E-14 Notes. Complete the E-14 Practice Problems 1-3 “odd letters” (a, c, e …)(Periodic Table). Homework: Complete the E-15 Equal Volumes Prelab (due next Tues).

Friday, November 10th – NO SCHOOL. VETERAN’S DAY.

Hello, students!

Here is what we are doing in Regular Chemistry this week:

Monday, October 30th – Troubleshoot the E-9 Discovering Density Lab “Raw Data” and Calculations (E-09-15 ls). Then, complete and turn in the E-9 Analysis 4-5, the Conclusion, and the Mind Prober (E-09 DD Data Table KR). If time, begin the E-9 Density Prequiz Questions (E-09 pqqwpic)(due Wed). Homework: If you scored less than a C- on the E-7 Physical and Chemical Changes Test, you must retake E-7 on Thursday, but anyone may retake if they wish. Please do the E-7 PT2 to prepare for it (E-07-17 pt2r)(due Wed)!

Monday, October 23rd – Happy Mole Day (https://ed.ted.com/lessons/daniel-dulek-how-big-is-a-mole-not-the-animal-the-other-one)! Review the Guidelines for Measuring (GUIDELINESFORMEASURING-15). Complete, get stamped, and check the Measuring Worksheet #2 (Measuring Worksheet #2). Collect the “Raw” data for the E-9 Discovering Density Lab and get checked. Homework: Complete the 1st Quarter Review for E-1 through 7 (except 2) (1st Q RS)(due Wed).

Tuesday, October 24th – Introduce E-2 Significant Figures (E-02-16 ssr). As a class, complete the calculations for E-9 and turn in one clean copy of the “Raw” data and Calculations per group for grading. Homework: Complete the 1st Quarter Review for E-1 through 7 (except 2) (due Wed).

Wednesday, October 25th – Stamp and check the 1st Quarter Review through E-7 (except 2). Homework: Review E-1 through 7 (except 2) and STUDY for the Midpoint Growth Assessment.

Thursday, October 26th – Take the Mid Point Growth Assessment over E-1 to 7 (except 2). 3:30 – 7 pm Parent Teacher Conferences.

Friday, October 27th – NO SCHOOL. 8: 30 am – Noon Parent Teacher Conferences.
