Homework: STUDY E-4to6 (E-04-15 ls/Bunsen Burner 1/E-05-16 lsr/E-06-15 ls/E-06-09 pt) if retaking on Wednesday!!! Homework: Complete E-9 Discovering Density Prelab (due Fri).

Tuesday, October 17th – Check the Melting/Boiling Point Graph and Condensation/Freezing Point Graph Worksheets. Complete E-7 Physical vs. Chemical Change Worksheet (due Thurs). Homework: STUDY E-4to6 if retaking on Wednesday!!! Complete E-9 Prelab (GUIDELINESFORGRAPHING-08/E-09-15 ls)(due Fri).

Wednesday, October 18th – Check the E-6 Observing Phase Changes Worksheet. Check the E-7 Practice Problems. E-4to6 Lab Test retake.   Complete E-7 Physical vs. Chemical Change Worksheet (due Thurs). Homework: Complete E-9 Prelab (due Fri).

Thursday, October 19th – Play the E-7 Kahoot (https://play.kahoot.it/#/intro?quizId=1b8c3a0f-5dbd-4f46-9464-3593108d00b0). Check and turn in E-7 Physical vs. Chemical Changes Worksheet. Complete, check, and turn in E-7 Practice Test (E-07-17 ptr). Homework: Complete E-9 Prelab (due Fri).

Friday, October 20th – Complete, check, and turn in E-7 More Practice Problems Worksheet with partner (E-07 mppr). Take the E-7 Test. Get the E-9 Prelab stamped. Review Guidelines for Measuring and begin Measuring Worksheet #2 (GUIDELINESFORMEASURING-15/Measuring Worksheet #2). Complete the E-9 Lab.

Honors Chemistry … October 16th – 20th

Hello, students!

Important note 2: Want retake E-1 or E-2? Please do the required remediation sheet (E-01-17 remh/E-02-13 empp/E-02-13 apt), check it with me, and sign up for a time to retake it (You may do that any time, one time per test this semester, whenever you are truly ready!)!

Here is what we are doing in Honors Chemistry this week:

Monday, October 16th – Make sure to review the Guidelines for Measuring (GUIDELINESFORMEASURING-15) and the Rules for E-2 Significant Figures (E-02-17 ssh). Then, get your E-9 Discovering Density “raw data” and Calculations checked and transferred to E-9 Lab Worksheet (E-09-14 lsh/E-09 DD Data Table KR). Then, complete Analysis 4-5, the Conclusion, and the Mind Prober. Homework: Begin the E-9 Density Prequiz Questions (E-09 pqqwpic)(due Wed) and the E-10 Beverage Density Prelab (GUIDELINESFORLABREPORT-08/E-10-14 lsh)(due Thurs).

Tuesday, October 17th – Have you finished the E-9 Lab Worksheet Analysis 4-5, the Conclusion, and the Mind Prober? Homework: Finish the E-9 Prequiz Questions (due Wed) complete the E-10 Prelab (due Thurs) and begin E-9 Density Practice Calculations Worksheet, if time (E-09 dpc)(due Fri).

Wednesday, October 11th – HALF. DAY. Play the Physical and Chemical Change SMART Board game. Homework: Continue working on the E-7 Practice Problems 1-6 ALL and 7-9 “odd letters” (a, c, e …)(due Fri).

Tuesday, October 10th – Go over E-8 Practice Problems 2 and 4. Complete, check, and turn in E-8 Practice Test #2 with face partner (E-08-17 pthv2). Homework: Complete E-8 Practice Problems 6, 8, and 10 for Wed. 

Wednesday, October 11th – HALF DAY. Stamp E-8 Practice Problems and go over 6, 8, and 10. Homework: Complete the Practice Test #3 Lab Scenario #1 (E-08-17 pthv3) for Thurs. 

Thursday, October 12th – Go over Practice Test #3 Lab Scenario #1. Do E-9 Discovering Density Lab, collect “raw data”, complete Calculations, and compare Calculations with at least one other group. Homework: Complete the Practice Test #3 Lab Scenario #2 (E-08-17 pthv3) for Fri. 

Friday, October 13th – Go over Practice Test #3 Lab Scenario #2. Take the E-8 Test. If possible, get E-9 “raw data” and Calculations checked and transfer to E-9 Lab Worksheet (E-09-14 lsh/E-09 DD Data Table KR). Homework: Complete E-10 Beverage Density Prelab (GUIDELINESFORLABREPORT-08/E-10-14 lsh)(due next Thurs).

Monday, October 2nd – Discuss the E-4 Using the Bunsen Burner Lab Data and Questions and jot notes (E-04-15 ls). Discuss the E-5 Data and Analysis Tables and jot notes on Questions (E-05-16 lsr). Complete and turn in the Heating and Cooling Curves Graph and Analysis #1-3 (GUIDELINESFORGRAPHING-08/E-06-15 ls/E-6 Sample Data)(Make sure you have graphed BOTH Days.). Begin the E-6 Analysis Questions 4-7, Critical Thinking Questions, and Conclusion with partner and turn in. Homework: Read the E-7 Physical and Chemical Changes Study Sheet and complete Practice Problems 1-6 ALL and 7-9 “odd letters” (a, c, e …)(E-07-16 ssr)(due next Thurs).

Complete EITHER Day 1 or Day 2 with your face partner and exchange Data with the other group at your table. Review the E-2 Significant Figures Calculating Rules (E-02-17 ssh). Complete BOTH the E-8 Data and Calculations Tables in your Workbook and compare with the other group at your table. If time, compare with another table. Homework: STUDY for the E-7 Test Wednesday (Here is an optional Venn Diagram the might help … E-7 vd)! FINISH your E-8 Data and Calculations if you did not.  Continue the E-9 Prelab (due Thurs).

Wednesday, October 4th – Complete the E-7 Test. Get your table’s, E-8 Data and Calculations approved and begin the E-8 Lab Worksheet with your shoulder partner and turn in (E-08-17 wkshth). Homework: Finish the E-9 Prelab (due Thurs). Read the E-8 Study Sheet and begin the Practice Problems (ice cube page)(E-08-17 ssh)(due Thurs).

Thursday, October 5th – Stamp the E-9 Prelab. Finish the E-8 Lab Worksheet and turn in. Homework: Read the E-8 Study Sheet and continue the Practice Problems (1, 3, and 5)(due Fri).

Friday, October 6th – Check and turn in the E-8 Lab Worksheet. Go over the E-8 ice cube and Practice Problems 1 and 3. Review the Guidelines for Measuring AGAIN. Review the E-2 Significant Figures Calculating Rules AGAIN. Homework: Read the E-8 Study Sheet and finish Practice Problems (5, 7, and 9)(due Mon).

Hello, students!

Here is what we are doing in Regular Chemistry this week:

Monday, September 25th – Complete the E- 5 Solids on Warming and 6 Heating and Cooling Curves Prelabs and get approved (GUIDELINESFORLABREPORT-08/E-05-16 lsr/E-06-15 ls). Complete the E-4 Using the Bunsen Burner Questions on the E-4-6 Practice Test (E-06-09 pt).

Tuesday, September 26th – E-5 Lab Demo. Complete the Data and Analysis Tables. Homework: Wear appropriate lab-wear for Wednesday!

Wednesday, September 27th – Are you wearing appropriate lab-wear? Did you get the E- 6 Prelab approved? Do the E-6 Lab Day #1. Complete a graph of the E-6 Day #1 Lab Data using the Guidelines for Graphing (GUIDELINESFORGRAPHING-08). If not, complete the E-6 Prelab today and get approved!

Thursday, September 28th – Are you wearing appropriate lab-wear? Did you get the E- 6 Prelab approved? Do the E-6 Lab Day #1. Complete a graph of the E-6 Day #1 Lab Data using the Guidelines for Graphing.

Friday, September 29th – Discuss the E-6 Day #1 Lab Graph and mark Analysis #1-3 on Graph. Complete a graph of the E-6 Day #2 Lab Data DIRECTLY ON TOP of the Day #1 Data using the Guidelines for Graphing (E-6 Sample Data). Submit graph for grading Monday!
