Chemistry … January 30th – February 3rd

Hello, students!

Here is what we are doing in Chemistry this week:

Monday, January 30th – Review E-27 Atomic Structure I. Review E-28 Oxidation Numbers monatomic ions (including oxidation number pattern on the Periodic Table).  Video clip: WKRP Atom (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhbqIJZ8wCM).  Work on homework and ask questions. Homework: FINISH the E-26 History of the Atom Crossword (e-26-13-crossword)(due on or before Friday). Finish ALL of the E-27 Practice Problems from page 13 in the Workbook AND list the names, dates, and accomplishments of the eight scientists responsible for creating modern atomic theory (e-27-16-ss/e-27-14-pp/e-27-08-mpp/e-27-08-empp)(due Tues for Test Thursday!!!). Continue studying the your E-28 Flashcards (e-28-08-ss/e-28-14-sh)(Quiz is next Tuesday, February 7th!!!)! Here is a Powerpoint you can use to study in addition to your flashcards … e-28-ion-flashcards!

Tuesday, January 31st –  Meet in class. Then, go to B-327. Do E-27 Practice Test (e-27-excel-pt), but DO NOT print it (unless YOU want to). Homework: FINISH the E-26 Crossword (due on or before Friday). Did you finish ALL of the E-27 Practice Problems from page 13 in the Workbook AND list the names, dates, and accomplishments of the eight scientists responsible for creating modern atomic theory? STUDY for the E-27 Test (Thursday)!!! Continue studying the your E-28 Flashcards, fill out the E-28 Ion Bingo card (e-28-08-ibc), and complete the E-28 Worksheet on page 17 in your Workbook (due Fri / Quiz is next Tuesday, February 7th!!!)! Thursday, February 2nd – Stamp and check the E-27 the Practice Problems from page 13 in Workbook. Take the E-27 Atomic Structure I Test. Introduce E-29 Inorganic Nomenclature (ionic compounds) and begin even examples from page 21 in Workbook. Homework: Continue studying the your E-28 Flashcards, fill out the E-28 Ion Bingo card, and complete the E-28 Worksheet on page 17 in your Workbook (due Fri / Quiz is next Tuesday, February 7th!!!)! Here is a Powerpoint you can use to study in addition to your flashcards … e-28-ion-flashcards Read E-29 in the Workbook (See Workbook for relevant black textbook pages.)(e-29-16-ss(due Fri). Begin the Practice Problems odds on page 21 in Workbook (due next Tues).

Friday, February 3rd – Turn in E-26 Crossword. Continue E-29 (ionic compounds) and finish even examples from page 21 in Workbook. Stamp and check the E-28 Flashcards, the E-28 Ion Bingo card, and the E-28 Worksheet from page 17 in Workbook.  Play Ion Bingo. Homework: Continue studying the your E-28 Flashcards and the E-28 Worksheet on page 17 in your Workbook (Quiz is next Tuesday, February 2nd!!!)! Here is a Powerpoint you can use to study in addition to your flashcards … E-28 ion flashcardsConsider doing the E-28 Practice Quiz (e-28-11-pt). Continue the E-29 Practice Problems odds on page 21 in Workbook (due next Tues).
